How do I successfully log in to an EBSCO database off campus?

When working from home or accessing
databases off campus we would always recommend that you access the databases via library search or from the link in your subject guide. This will ensure that
you are logged in as a member of the university and able to access the full
resource. If you are trying to access a database on the EBSCO platform, that
includes databases such as business source complete, Sportsdiscus ERIC for
education, Avery Index for architecture, CAB abstracts and MLA international bibliography. You can simply start by typing the name of your database into
library search which in this case I’m going to use business source complete. Click on search and it will take you into the results list in library search. business source complete is the database shown at the top and if I go into the
full record for the database I’m given the option to access the full text by
clicking on the business source complete blue bubble link. As I am off campus this
has come up with the single sign-on page where I can simply enter my university
user ID and password and then it will log me in successfully into the
database. The name of the University is shown in the top right hand corner to
show that I’m successfully logged in. You may find that you end up on a page
without being logged in successfully. For EBSCO you’ll often see this page where
it’s asking you to sign in with a Google account or with an EBSCOhost account . For our purposes, scroll down further and you’ll see an option that says
institutional login. If I click on this link it is then going to give me the
option to find Newcastle University as my University. From the drop-down menu
I’m going to scroll down to find UK higher education and this will then
bring up a list of all the universities in the UK that I could use to login. I’m going to scroll down to find Newcastle University in the list, click
on the link and then I will be taken to the single sign-on page. As I already logged in on the other tab it’s recognized my login details in face
simply click on EBSCOhost web I am them taken into the database list and have
been successfully logged in as Newcastle University. I can then scroll down and
find business source complete in the list to access the database
